ADRA New Zealand responds to Indonesian Earthquake

With more than 5,000 people dead, 20,000 injured and 100,000 homeless, the ADRA teams have responded to the recent earthquake in Yogyakarta.

ADRA networks have already pledged over NZ$200,000 including $10,000 from New Zealand. These funds will provide medical supplies for the volunteer teams, shelter and food supplies and assist with setting up centres for processing victims searching for their families.

ADRA was already gearing up for a response to the nearby volcanic eruptions, thought to be getting bigger and more threatening, and have been assisted by Robert Patton from ADRA Asia, in preparing emergency response plans.

ADRA Asia has stock piles of medical supplies held in Indonesia for this event and these are being shipped into the affected region for immediate use in this emergency.

Your help is needed immediately and any donations can be sent to “ADRA New Zealand – Disaster Relief Appeal” at 743 Great South Rd, Manukau.

You could also go online and make an electronic donation at the ADRA New Zealand website: www.adra.org.nz
