The mortality rate of children under six years old in Cambodia is of major concern. Many are dying from a few preventable and treatable conditions. The causes of malnutrition include multiple factors including disease, inadequate food intake, poor caring practices, lack of access to health and basic services including safe water and sanitation facilities, lack of income and education, and widespread poverty.

This project is aiming to improve livelihoods and promote knowledge and practice of maternal and child health among 1,050 pregnant women, parents, care givers and children under six years in 30 villages, resulting in a safe and supportive community environment for rural children.

Reflect circle groups are formed and meet regularly to discuss current issues and topics covering basic literacy and numeracy skills, improvement of household management, parenting skills, early child development skills, preventive and newborn care practices, and local village community development through livelihoods and income generation activities.
