Western Nepal Sustainable Economic and Environmental Development (SEED)
Even before the massive floods of 2007 the people in Banke, Bardia and Kailali districts of Western Nepal faced aggravated poverty, lack of educational opportunities, ethnic discrimination, poor health and practically minimal employment.
The SEED project focuses on the lower caste and ethnic minorities through education in the areas of sanitation, literacy, health care as well as natural resource management, economic empowerment and leadership development.
ADRA is making sure that district level government officials and community leaders are involved with the project to ensure good governance and the socio-economic and health status of all participants will reach a stage of self reliance with eventual involvement in credit and savings groups.
